Incentive programs change. This page centralizes what could be verified from official and reputable program summaries as of that date. It does not guarantee that any household qualifies for any payment. Confirm details with the program administrator before you buy equipment.

Provincial cash rebates

Alberta does not currently run a province-wide cash rebate that pays homeowners a set amount for a new furnace, air conditioner, or heat pump. If a contractor claims a provincial grant as if it were automatic, ask for the program name and the official page.

Airdrie Clean Energy Improvement Program (CEIP)

The City of Airdrie participates in the Clean Energy Improvement Program administered with Alberta Municipalities. CEIP is financing repaid through the property tax bill, not an automatic grant. Official program materials have described a fixed interest rate and municipal rebate features that can change.

As of 14 September 2026, the City of Airdrie states that CEIP is at capacity and has closed to new pre-qualification submissions. Existing waitlisted submissions are processed first-come, first-served as space becomes available. Confirm the live status on the City page before planning a project around CEIP.

Last verified: 14 September 2026. City of Airdrie CEIP page (airdrie.ca, serviceID 2751): program at capacity and closed to new pre-qualification. Alberta Municipalities CEIP administrator site: ceip.abmunis.ca. Natural Resources Canada pages for any federal offer still under consideration. Do not treat contractor blogs as the current rule set.

Federal programs

The original Canada Greener Homes Grant closed to new applications in 2024. For Alberta and the other federally delivered jurisdictions, 31 July 2026 was the last day to submit a new Oil to Heat Pump Affordability (OHPA) application. Applications already submitted before that date can continue through document and completion steps. OHPA is not open to new Alberta applicants as of this verification date.

The Canada Greener Homes Affordability Program has been described as an income-qualified, province-by-province rollout. Confirm current delivery in Alberta on Natural Resources Canada before treating it as available for a specific home.

How to use this page

Treat every dollar figure you see in older articles as stale until the issuing government page says otherwise. Confirm CEIP capacity and any federal offer before you sign an equipment order.

A quote for a furnace or heat pump should stand on its own even if a program later offsets part of the cost. Do not delay a no-heat repair while waiting on a closed intake window.

Questions

Can Airdrie HVAC guarantee my rebate?
Program eligibility and applications are determined by the program administrator. Confirm the current requirements with the official program before making an equipment decision.
Is there a heat pump rebate in Alberta right now?
There is no verified province-wide heat pump cash rebate as of the verification date above. Municipal financing and limited federal offers may apply to some households. Check official sources.
